right i wanna know if its worth dropping a 1.3 cam into a 1.2 for abit more power ?

also do you need to remove the engine to get to the cam?
and
how much are we talking of for a good cam?

I have got a can off a 1.3 ready to fit into my 1.2 It will have a little gain but not as much as putting a 14.sr cam in as they have the highest lift. You dont have to taqke the engine apart just the cam box off the top. Your timming will need doing afterward mind.

You can get 1.4 cams on ebay sometimes for about ?30.

If your getting one off a scrapper make sure it isn't too warn and you get the rockers and lifters to match.

untill someone puts up the duration specs for the 1400 cam i still dont believe its the best one to go for
it may have slightly more lift but it could have a real crap duration

I have a 1.3 SR Engine sat in my garage. If i swap the cams will i get more performance?

I agree, lift isn't everything, duration is more important, and the profile will make the biggest diff.

I do however think rthat the 1.4 and 1.6 will give similar gains.

erm blokey at velos said that a 1.3 cam gave 6bhp on the rollers in a decent condition 1.2

i looked at a 1.4 cam the duration is about (very approx lol) 240 degrees and 6.1mm lift

and seeing as the lift diff is .1mm the duration wont be that different

only major difference will be the overlap.

1.4sr has highest lift (6.12mm) followed by 1.3sr and GTE (6.0mm).
Dunno bout duration.

By putting a better cam in and getting more power you can get away with not declaring it on ur insurance policy because it is not visibly noticable at all.

don't bother, spend the money on a decent manifold or some lrp 4star

yeh so wood the 1.4 cam fit in a 1.2i? and wood the 1.4 manifold fit? i could easy make up a threaded hole 4 the lambda sensor.

cheers

The 1.4 cam fits!
The manifold fits also!

1.4 cam and 1.4 SRi manifold is the best bet. You'll have the lambda hole then.

If you are gonna go buy a new cam though, might aswell buy a performance item. Search the scrappies.
