ETB Digidash question- pulses per engine cycle from coil question

Hello again guys,
My ETB digidash requires this info for the rpm

Pulses per engine cycle from coil

engine is an e16se

Now its currently set at 2 and im getting a bogus figure, almost double what was on the timing light, does anyone know what it should be before i try rewriting the digidash files?
Not sure if its the dash or timing light!

Looks like it should be 2, might try and set it up to 4 and see if that halfs it

4cyl - 4 pulse
v6 - 6 pulse
etc
and i know you didnt ask, but...
derv - 16.8 pulse (Bosch alt signal) all others are a flat 17 pulse hence why it idols at 4200 if you use a 4cyl petrol rpm gauge on a derv as derv take the rpm signal from the alternator.

jeeeese you certainly know your stuff, my digidash also has that option for alternator setup as opposed to coil, but iv taken it straight off coil so Il try 4 on the dash set-up like you say :)
