I think he means possible Vauxhall Nova prototypes with 8v/16v engines in.
Yeah Now they should of made at least an Seh Nova to compete with the Gti's, R5GTT, Uno T, RST etc etc
I bet the ode boys dropped a Let in a GSI as a practical joke one tea break and thought this could catch on,.. then tea break ended and the forgot all about it for the next 5 years!!

Basically then who was the first to do a 2.0 8/16v conversion and has anyone some early pictures of these conversions taken on there old polroid cameras, and surely the mechanics has a incling that these conversions would be still going 20 odd years on lol

i remember that a car was the saloon blue
Thats the one, think I have the feature at home. will scan it and bung it up if I remember this weekend.
i no the car too there has been pics posted up of it on here before, IIRC (could be wrong) did it not have a irmsher kit on it and was in scotland aye
it had irmy grill and 1.8SR on the bootlid.
i know my mate did an XE conversion about 17-18 years ago (i think)...and and then LET'd it a few years after that...and he still has it
Its all lies, the big block conversion was never done, its just an urban legend, ask anyone and they will tell you they run bottles of skimmed milk in all the fast nova's these days, lol
And going back to the nova in the feature, was an astra mk1 GTE engined SR, with the decal 1.8SR on the bootlid as bubba stated, the conversion was never anyrhing to do with vauxhall though, was featured alongside the boyfriends nordic two door loon on speedline mistrals, iirc he is or was on here a couple of years back too, oh and the lass was a bit of a bird too:thumb:
The 1st companies in Germany that put the 1.8 engine of the Astra GTE in a Corsa A, did that already in 1983. But it was no test and try of Opel. The even sold a few of these conversions. Iirc, the 1st XE in a Corsa was done in 88 or 89, but also from a tuning company
