My Nova had been struggling to start (starter wasnt turning properly) and took a few goes to fire up, until last week it decided it had had enough.

I have fitted a replacement starter motor and have re-connected the two red cables - should there be another wire somewhere cos nothings happening still

Anything else it could be? - we charged the battery so definitely not an alternator issue

Put a jump lead between the engine and earth on the battery and try it

Black and red goes to soldenoid.

Thick red goes battery/starter/alternator.

is there not a small wire that has a spade connector or a small bolt connector like on the 8v's? you have the 2 large red leads and then a small connector cable the primes the solenoid to engage?

Yeh I've found it now...must have come loose. Will that really make all the difference between nothing at all and firing up?
