well, hopefully im starting welding on the nova soon question is how long would a 600g gas bottle last? bearing in mind ive got the roof cut off. and need to weld the back up. i dont want to go and buy 3 bottles when its not my welder lol

im not sure how you would be able to work out how long it would last. possibly anyone started a new bottle when starting welding a rust box

If your buying the disposable ones get them from machine mart they do a bottle of the same size but more gas.

We used about 2 to stitch weld wwmnw's engine bay and any other welding that was needed at the time.
Hope that helps

ive got to weld a bootlid onto the back of the roof. i think i may need a fair few lol. or look into a big reusable one maybe

You might be better with a big one if it a lot to weld the only to remember is the likes of the price of the bottle rental and the price of a Reg, unless you have both.
I priced a argon shield med from boc last year and to buy a Reg was £70 the bottle rental was about £35 and the gas was about 30 all plus vat. So it get expensive

The problem with that setup mate is it doesn't come with a Reg and other parts that you need to go with gas if your getting one from mm you best getting a one for gas I have the 135te and that's a canny welder

They last me ages, despite people on here saying disposables are last ten minutes.

The high pressure Machine Mart ones are those that I use too.

Why not just set up a gas bottle account???
Far far cheaper option,i pay £18 a refill and £6 a month bottle rental.thats lasted me since march last year and i stitched and HH plated my last nova, plus done god knows how many other bits with it and theres still a third of the bottle left.

I didnt even use a full bottle doing all the welding work on my Corsa. For how little I use my welder, its pointless renting a bottle for me personally.

Have a word with the local pub landlord and see if he has any old bottles.

If your going 2nd hand get a decent make not bloody Clarke!

Gas and wire useage can vary dramatically depending on your welding style!

Gas direct is what you want. £5 monthly rental and £15 refil for a medium bottle. That will actually last..
