has anyone got any pics of some headlight brows, i quite like the idea of them but the only ones i can find go the wrong way, making it look like its taking a dump rather than looking mean. are there any made the right way or am i going to have to make some ?

for illustration purposes the ones i mean look like this : / \ rather than : \ / if that makes sense :thumb:

If you really must, the best option IMO is one that goes all along the front like this:

...as the ones that slot on top of the headlights never fit right. Other than that, maybe cut some normal flat ones.

Orrrr just don't lol

Haha cut me some slack, that looks super chagrin tbh, the bonnet doesn't look that bad imo.
I have reason behind this tho as my hids go everywhere and having the top of my lamps covers will stop dazzling

Or just take the HIDs off lol

BTW covering the top half won't work.

...and I'll tell you why lol The way a H4 lens functions is the top half provides the 'dipped' beam light, the bottom part provides the 'main' beam light. Look at the way a H4 bulb is constructed - the dipped beam filament has a shield underneath it, so the light shines upwards. Diagrams to explain what I mean:

Dipped:

Main:

Thinking about the way some H4 HIDs work, they have a rotating shield which reflects light upwards for low beam, but snaps round to shine the light downwards for high beam.

The issue you have is there's too much light directly escaping into the lower section which is causing too light splash in the top half of the beam pattern. So really you want to be covering the bottom half of the light!

Thing to do is to switch back to halogens, I know its not a good solution if you want HIDs, but they don't really work in H4 fashion. If you want a blue/white light output, look for PIAA spark blue bulbs, or if you want better light output look for PIAA Xtreme White (or even better Xtreme Force if you can still get them) or Osram Nightbreakers.

[edit] Sod that, Nightbreakers are rubbish. lol

Cheers jack, that's useful info. So my theory wouldn't work anyway Haha, worst part is I got used to having mega lights and I removed them last week and hated it as I do lots of b road driving the hid's just seem to light up the lines and cats eyes better and most importantly deers eyes. Love having them but everyone hates me on the road, can't remember the last person to thank me for giving way to them lol

Btw my hids work by having a fixed bit shield iirc at the bottom which acts as the bulb holder, and main beam pushes the bulb out to a gap in the shield. So maybe I could modify this shield to be bigger or something to block the light going to the bottom of the lens
