View Full Version : My good deed for today....
Sat outside a customers house in a street where cars are parked both sides of the road,a car is coming towards me,and one away from me.
The car going away from me then proceeds to pull in a space infront of a vitara parked infront of me to let the other car pass, whilst doing so it smashes into the rear bumper of the vitara!
It then let the car by and drove off!
They scuffed all the paintwork and left damage to bumper.
Just aswell i was sat smoking with a pen in my hand!
Reg noted,i knocked on a door who pointed me to the vitara owners flat, left the reg and my number.
It infuriates me that people who do stuff like that!!
Bang out of order imo.
cue a call from them asking you to pay for the damage lol
Nah i spoke to him personally,i did worry about that aswell as my van is the same colour as the car that hit it lol
Thats why i didnt just leave a note lol
I would have rang the police instead as the damager could have come back and removed the note off the windscreen etc...
andy, have you visited the doctors since? cos it doesn't sound like you at all

Normally if it was just a touch i would just leave it,but when a 1500kg 4x4 rocks from side to side-its took a fair clout.
Plus i know how annoying it is to find wing mirrors dangling by wires or scuffs and dents to happen eith colours left behind and no details left-it takes the piss.
People should'nt have the attitude of-"did anyone see?,i hope not!" or "ignorance is bliss" when it comes to stuff like that.People pay alot of money for cars and insurance etc and folk who go around damaging it and fleeing the scene are just scum imo.
I was talking to an old guy in our parts dept the other day, he had come out of the supermarket to find his 61 reg nissan note had been crashed into, bumper hanging off, paint all scuffed and the quarter and door both dented in!
Looking round he saw a note on his screen so naturally opened it and looked to see what it said, something along the lines of 'im only leaving this note so the people who saw me think im leaving my details, bad luck pal'
How fcuking horrible is that, the guy said he was gutted as it was the first ever brand new car he has bought in his life and he is about 80, poor bloke!
supermarkets have CCTV, and the police forensic people can check the note....
Would the police really spend time checking the note for forensic info tho? Really?

not all do...when i worked for tesco they didnt. purely because its a "park at your own risk" and its not tesco's fault if a million trollies roll into your car.

No.

That story is almost as old as Mowgli lol

Nope as he went to the police with it and they werent interested at all!
That story is almost as old as Mowgli lol
Ive heard stories similar before but he showed us the car as he was in getting a price on a rear bumper for it and we advised him to go to a body shop as it was rather bad!
I posted a note through the tilted open sunroof of a Micra when a taxi driver scraped it once in a similar situation to Andy's. He wasn't gonna leave one, and then we discusssed the fact that he wouldn't be getting that one back either.
He asked me why I cared! :/ FFS. I was pro as you like. Left my number and ended up emailing the lass the pics I took. lol

when a 6"4 grave digger knocks at your door at 7am on a sunday morning gives you a shock look out window to "can i have a word" lol
guy down road who is a rather large unit reversed into my car offered me his insurance details etc etc after inspecting the damage i told him not to worry as i was repainting the rear bumper anyway, he was well chuffed!
plus its always good to have a 6 foot 4 grave digger in your pocket lol
and i thanked him for his honesty:thumb:
Going to the rozzers & pressing for something to be done, as leaving the scene of an accident is worth a stack of points etc.... And getting them to check the cctv will suddenly make things happen...it worked for us when my missus saw someone belt our old omega estate.

Pervert. lol
Girl opened her door into my Celica once in the works car park - it didn't leave a mark (and I was about to fit a replacement door anyway) but she still came down and offered her details. I'd have taken her number, but she had a wedding ring on so didn't bother lol
you gave up on a definite shag there jack......
