td alternator - name that wire...

taken the old alt off the corsa td and i noticed a spare wire - now does anyone know if this is supposed to be spare or whether this one has maybe been damaged and i'm missing something i need off my alt loom - anyone know?

it's the bit coming from the clip on the left wire btw

ive never seen that before dune unles its a sender for the vault gauge

hmm might be a random handoff then cause the alt was a non genuine replacement
