EGR Valve removal on an X16XE

I've been told that the EGR valve can be deleted from the ECU using Tech II but I've never heard of it before. Has anyone else or am I listening to bull****?

Hmm not sure on that, I know vauxhall do patch egrs a lot but I am not sure its that easy. We have Vauxcom at work and we can't do it. Well if we can I have no idea how you would go about it!

when i removed mine (still got the parts if you need them) i blanked it off with a plate that a made from alloy but left the egr pluged in so the ecu thought it was working and just tucked the egr valve away

What he said. Blanking plates can be bought off eBay.

I have it off this lifetime but itsd unplugged and removed, I dont see the point of something sitting in the bay thats not even used.

because eventually the ecu will go into limp mode with out it being pluged in so its basicly tricking the ecu

Just blank it off with a piece of alloy.
Leaving it plugged in keeps the ecu happy.

about to do mine when i fit the inlet box etc.. and looked into it.
no power gains what so ever but heard it helps it run smoother

Yes I know all this, I've done all this but I want to do away with it altogether hence the thread asking about it being deleted.

Maybe as per your original post you you have been listening to bs, hence everyone suggesting the blanking method.

I can't see how tech 2 can delete something from the Ecu tbh.

Well the purpose of the origional post was to see if its bs or not. I'm gonna speak to a lad I know with Tech II and get his thoughts on it.
