Never realised how shocking these engines are :(
The chain it rattely as hell gets worse as it warms up. I dont even think iw wants the head gasget. was leaking thrugh the timing cover into the water pump housing. But took the cam cover off and was thick crud every where also in the sump  looked like wasnt getting enough oil round the engine. Got loads of service history too. So Thats why i decided to take the head off. All new gasgets, Everythin stripping and cleaning New chain kit.

sounds like youve bought a nail pal lol
Sounds like a cheap nail, don't the Z20LEH engines fit in these rather easily and just plug and play? lol

Its not going to be a nail when iv finished. Iv worked out il be spending £160 on it altogether, got the car cheap enough so il be spending alot less than if i bought one with nothing wrong plus i will have a fresh engine. Iv read up on some other forums where they have exact same problems, so if i was to get one that was ok, could still have clots of crap in the engine.
So you took the head of without actually diagnosing it?
PS - bin those god-awful wheels lol

I was woried about the lack of oil going round the engine, took the cam cover off and was full of crap so thort beta strip it all down in one go and give it a clean, once the head came off i could see that some of the oil galaries were blocked aswell. the novas comeing off road for a few months so wana make sure this car is going to be right befor i use it.
As for the wheels guna just get some normal sxi ones.
