I think its a shame you want to get rid of your track car......One of the best IMO! If I had the money it would be mine!!
Like the loon more than your other hatch so...cant you find a way of keeping the track slag and building the loon at the same time?
scott.parker

Im out of Love with the track car, and honestly dont see me using it what it's built for...
The other MK1 im tempted to SR rep, but dont know if i can be botherd...
The loon might be a long term project, all got to be decided yet..

Sell the track car, keep the loon and jam yellow!
*edit* e rej and p/s mirror blank???
Nice purchase with the loon, definately think you should break the track car and put the engine in that, would be fun :p
I vote a tidy up with the rear arches and a mop - then slam it, then put a decent engine in it (with bay prep/paint if necessary) and enjoy....
You were lucky I even made it there, after two sets of straps snapped! It clearly wanted to stay with its LET sister...

993cc base spec no head rest, no dash vents etc..
Tempted to put the XE in it, but then im stuck with a track car with no value etc..

PMSL, yeah i dont officially have a job till Monday/Tuesday either! not funny really..
But i do want the track car gone.
Initial idea is, retro/euro'ish very low and some sort of odd engine conversion, like the idea of a Turbo as Ive never had a Turbo petrol car.
u just want booooooost innit lol

Yes i do, and you can come help me build the fooker too! i need some one who can weld better then half arsed attempts, or at least lend me a decent welder! lol
Ironically - my mate can do a good deal on stitch weld and paint (plus any other bits that need doing), plus I can demonstrate why fitting a let is a bad (but really good) idea!
But you will have to drive it down! lol
scott.parker
02-12-11, 09:39 PM
Are you trying to make me cross you palm with more notes so you can stitch/paint the bay and then fit me a let??? lol

It really is a nasty disease!! I was going to get a flat this year, but vauxhalls keep getting in the way, and i dont know how long i can supress the nova bug before i get another. Good on ya for buying another, will be a good read for everyone if nothing else lol

Yeah But 2 was bad enough, i must sell the track car, as i cant have 3! lol
I know ill get hanged for this, but i just dont see the attraction in saloons. If they never realeased the hatch and just these then i reckon the nova would have died and been forgotten. I just dont get the attraction. I know its each to their own. Just my opinion.
I still think you'll struggle to sell the track car whole. why not put the shell up for sale without actually breaking it. then strip it if she sells. would only be a weekends work to strip it. And if that's gone the other bits will be easy enough to shift.
Thats not a bad idea - the shell will be the hardest to sell and you dont wanna be stuck with it on the drive without wheels etc.... worth a ponder fo sho'
Lmfao, whats your rents say to you turning their garden/drive into a mini car sales pitch lol
Btw i will swap you my astra and my soul for your track nova:d

I said that once as well, it only got worse....................
Rather have the Antibes then my track car.
Dont tell me things like that Scott lol
Yes Scott, You now officially join the Loony Club. lollol
Although im not a huge fan of the loons the sound of a LET project is very interesting, look forward to seeing what you decide to do with it :thumb:
And as someone has already said it does seem really hard to get decent money selling a track car complete, breaking it seems to be the best way to get the money back and with a bonus of utilising some of the parts on another project (say the loon for instance ;)) would be ideal. Something im considering!!!!!
scott.parker
03-12-11, 05:53 PM
I really dont want to break it though, can be bothered lol
Plus i dont want the XE in the loon, nor do want to have to take bits off etc.. im sure in the new year it will sell..
Wont be a LET mate, well i suppose if it's a Vauxhall turbo it's technically a let??
Well a turbo of any kind is good really, boost ftw :thumb:
Fit a cdti150 engine to be different and damn quick.

Ben the CDTi Idea's not bad, but would that not be a pig to do?
Small block was the idea, as Ive grown to love the handling characteristics of the 1.2 lol

only because it's not a mk2! lol
I'll look after the track car for you, are you open to flexible payment plans? pound a month until I win the lottery?
scott.parker
03-12-11, 06:48 PM
Make it £1000 a month and you can have the sod!

Wouldnt be too tough if you can get some standalone management for it which someone said was available? Iirc stu knows more gumpfh on it.

I would have seriously taken you up on that if I hadn't moved out of my old man's lol

Diesel standalone I have seen before but it cost more than buying a whole 2-3 year old car and using the entire loom out of it.

if you break track car id buy engine.
Nice! Low, wide 13's, 1300 with 40's or do the diesel. i'd go for the 1.3 cdti with a 6 speeder, should make ok is power and be good on fuel!
I get 50mpg from the 1900 16v,you need better John? Lol
