Had a bit of a look on the internet and i can get a quote on a GTE nova for a touch over 600 and around 550 when i add my parents as a driver, this is also with a few mods declared. im 21 with 3 years no claims and planning to put a 1.6 in to my 1.2 nova. will i be looking at similar quotes as if i was to insure a gte???

Most companys wont insure engine changes so i would think youll be looking around the grand mark
A modified GTE will almost always be cheaper than a 1.2 fitted with a GTE engine, assuming as above you can find someone who will cover an engine swap.
A gte would be cheaper to insure than an engine swap as even though we know its a doddle,to an insurer its an extensive modification.

ah not what i wanted to hear still id be happy with a grand!
my guess would be around 1200, as my insurance quote was similar last year for a 1.2, and the 1.6 converted was 1200, standard gte was 850
