Thanks for the photo Steve, much appreciated, and it makes more sense now.

I'm having a last-minute think about changing my Nova hillclimb car to LHD for better weight distribution, although there'd be a lot of work to do before it goes off to be paint stripped next Wednesday!

Mine is a little bit more complicated, mostly because of the way the gear linkage works;

I think it's this which is going to be the insurmountable problem, as I don't want to have to re-design the whole gearchange set-up.
