what about the alternator pully with it being a multi rib. use a single v belt on the alt pully?

no alternator needs to run single v also there are plenty of them about as some redtops and 2.0 8v used twin v bottom pulleys so the alternator was single v setup

iam confused so whats the point in doing the chassis leg mod if not using multi ribbed pully. i had a 2ltr 8v in before using the single v other wise i would of just used this alt before cutting the chassis leg as i have a spare one.

you have to cut chassis leg to make room for the pully as the 16v sits it closer to the chassis leg

not the pully but i think the alternator should bolt on
8v and 16v blocks are exactly the same so the alternator sits in the same position on either engine
you need a single v pulley on both the alternator and crank pulley, it does fit without the chassis leg mod but only gives you maybe 5mm beside the pulley and chassis leg which is why it gets boxed in
if you cant get a single v just machine the twin v pulley down

the alternator top mount on the 16v mounts to the head so pushes the altenator back more than a 8v but i see what you mean about it being in the same place on the block so same distance from chassis leg sorry
yeah the blocks are identicle (bar the insides)
