View Full Version : Corsa B's
Asking in here since I don't want to sign up to anymore forums!!lol
Cousin is looking a car to tide her over to the summer as she is moving to Austrailia. Not looking to spend a fortune on a car, so a Corsa B would be as good a bet as any. What I want to know is where they are prone to rusting etc? Are they as bad as a Nova?!
Seen a 95 one for sale which is a likely candidate, so want to have half an idea of what to look out for.
Cheers
Adrian

every panel likes to rot on these just as much as a nova! chassis legs and front cross members are worst points check around engine mounts ect they seem to rust a bit also not saying this is true to "all corsa b's" but somthing to look at hope it helps

Basically, it's a modern nova, so do all the same checks as if it were a nova lol

I've seen more rot on Corsa B bulkheads than Novas but as above just pretend its around Nova and you'll not be far wrong.

Don't forget to check the spring mounts.

behind the rear wheels go bad umm the door pillers split aswell on the actual car body and as every body else said its a nova in a skirt lol
Post 97 ones are much better..
Anyway everywhere, Rear arches under the trims, Behind rear bumper, Spare wheel well, Sills (Although its from inside so you cant see it through the underseal), Front of bonnet, cross member, Bottom of doors, Round windscreen, Front chassis legs, Floors.
Everywhere, But they are all over 10 years old now, My little 12v (13 years old, 180k) has lasted and isn't rusty in all of those places, Only some.

Around the rear wiper is a common spot for rust and on the early ones the B pillars can crack. Sent you a Pm there too. :thumb:

Watch for rot under the side skirts too if it has them.
