Renewals are always high, you have to shop round. But prices in general have been increasing. The past couple of years I've managed to get prices around the same level.

Its ridiculous when £3000 is considered a 'good' price for a 17 year old to insure a, say, 7-year old 1.0 Corsa C which cost them £800 to buy. I know its not so much the value of the car, but more what they might/will crash into - but when I was 17, kids buying £800 7 year old cars weren't paying £3k, and they could just have easily cartwheeled through a Jaguar/Bentley/Aston Martin dealership or whatever.

imho I think 'personal injury' shouldnt be covered under car insurance. It should be a seperate thing like public liability insurance, and only payable for REAL injuries (stuff like whiplash, minor cuts and bruises arent) and there should be maximum/set payouts to ensure the premiums are sensible. If you dont have the liability insurance then thats your own look out when someone tries to claim. And there is no fault/nofault areas in there, just there was a claim you were involved with and it cost X, that would be fairerererer on the premium increase.

Insuring the vehicle should be exactly that, no more, no less. That should a) bring down the cost of motoring and b.) drop the number of no win no fee claims because the liability insurance will make it clear to those who have claimed what the REAL cost their little fraud has been.
