A puller helps!,...if not get the wheels straight, undo the steering wheel , then just put pressure as your moving bending wheel back and forth!, turning steering wheel round whilst doing, careful not to smack yourself in mouth if it comes off...lol....steering wheel puller around £15-£20 at halfords, then piece of cake and can use for life
Steering wheels are fettish items, ie, leather and rubber fanatics. So in order to get your steering wheel off, try leather lingerie and lubricants. With regards to technique, I honestly dont know but good luck with it.

I've just done this myself.
Take out the horn push and the will be a nut with a washer with lock tabs, bend the tabs out, and undo nut, leaving it on a couple of turns, then the steering wheel will pull off, but it's not that easy lol
You can just use brute force to get the steering wheel off, but it will still take some time, it took me ages to free the steering wheel, and a big hammer lol You shouldnt be too violent with it as the steering column is collapsable, so hitting it too much will damage it and it will need replacing. I would recommend getting a puller every time after doing mine without one

I used to just remove the steering shaft with the wheel still attacched unless I was swapping the steering wheel in that case I used to pull it.
