have decided its about time to do the head gasket on my car, started to strip out and

timed up the bottom pulley all ok

looked at the top camshaft pulley mark and, is 5 teeth out???????????

i dont think the cambelt has ever been changed, i am either the luckest person about or would this explain the feel of lack of power
flat out the car does about 80 and is horrible to start in this weather

has anybody else ever found this when doing there cambelt or head gasket change?

my car has done just under 69k but was stood up for about 8 years, could any of these point have anything to do with what i found????

mine is the 12st engine, i had one of these about 5 years ago in a j reg mk2 but that standard did just over 100mph

when i took my old c14se out the donor car the timing was off by a few teeth as well, the car still ran ok (had no exhaust on it though)
