ok so 93 corsa 1.5td

daytime running is fine and lights on at idle is fine, but when you have the lights on and rev it to 2k the lights/dashlights etc start to pulse. is it new alternator time or is there a regulator etc on these that can be looked at?

cheers in advance (flocking discount for a good answer lol)

have you put a multimeter on the battery yet whilst its running with no load, if so what voltage are you getting and what do you get at 2k rpm?

ie if it goes over 14.5v and keeps climbing as you rev more then yes the reg is dead

i haven't had chance to run it warm yet but cold across the battery terminals i get 12v with no increase with revs - so i'm guessing the alternator is dying?

time for a new one i think, usually its a common sign on alternators for flickering lights when the reg's on its way out as it starts letting AC thru and watch out for voltage spikes as a duff alt can generate excessive levels in V+ and swing very quickly due to the AC
