Looking for pictures and/or info on how various people have got around the distinct lack of space in the front of turbo novas. I'll most likely be using a TD05 Evo turbo set up so ideally anyone running this set up would be good. But I'd very much like to see how people have done it on all turbo set ups.
I'm trying to get as many ideas/info as possible.
Cheers. :thumb: and don't be shy with your input...
most people, like myself, cut the lower front cross member so the intercooler sits recessed into that.

Here is mine, its a bit different but works well and isn't as laggy as people may think.. Looks pretty cool though and I have plans to fit an oil cooler before the spring to!

Looks boxed in to me.
Thanks for the pictures any more??
Mine, not the same turbo tho. But everything is hidden behind a uncut(shaved a tiny amount off the insides, but nothings cut) GSI bumper.

Modded end because the F28 mount is in the way..( i know the L shape isn't best for flow)

Jimbo, check out my build thread, on the last few pages there are pictures of the custom Radtec intercooler and radiator I had made up for a few of us, sits behind an uncut gsi bumper discreetly.

Andy, Have you any more info on this? I can remember having a quick natter with Keith Robinson on Migweb years ago. Even if you could lay your hands on some dimensions etc that would be a huge help.
Benn, You sexy man lol any gen on your set up? I really want the uncut look if possible if only for the fact I bought a genuine brand new GSI bumper and the thought of butchering it makes me feel a little ill...:(
Thanks again people this is all very interesting and V. helpful..:thumb:

i completly removed and restructured the bottom cross member and lowered it.
Not for the cooler as such but for a combination of strenth and geometry ect but as a result it left me a healthy 2.5 inch gap between the rad and cooler which a lot of people forget they need to stop the radiant heat from the radiator pre heating the intercooler. This also promotes better air flow as it helps eliminate high presure areas behind the cooler!
Air doesnt flow the way it may apear. If it has a high resistance route or low resitance route as air flow increases the high presure area also increases and if given an option air will flow round rather than through. Supras actualy have a pocket in the wheel arches that connect behind the cooler and help lower the presure using the negative presure in the arches to promote air flow!

Jimbo, I have my original sketches and photos of my idea, no dimensions I'm afraid as it was made up by Radtec on my car and then replicated for Keith's and Martin Weavers so I'm pretty sure Radtec would have dimensions as I was going to look to sell more intercooler setups with them. I have loads of photos on and off the car. It's a tight fit but works really well and I've never had any problem running the smaller radiator as its more effective.
My intercooler was placed miles outside the car, one time I got pulled by 5-0 and he said "I'm concerned about your radiator hanging out" lol

Do you think they'd still have details? What kind of price was it? PM if you prefer not to disscuss on open forum.. :thumb:
