Mk1 'Loon

Had this for a little while so I thought I'd put a project thread up.

This is my 3rd Nova, which I don't think is too bad seeing as though i'm only 19 lol

Bought it off a mate for not a lot, and been doing it up slowly, and fixing it daily lol

It's an '88 1.2, 55000 miles. The shells pretty good tbh, no rust on the arches, battery tray or underneath, but the doors are ****ed lol

Got a few plans for it, but it's gonna be a long term thing.

It had already been lowered for 40mm on shocks and springs, but i've already fitted coilovers on the front. Had a lot of hassle, the tyre rubbed on the coilover, and with spacers the tyre rubbed on the arch, so i've got some lower profile tyres :)
Once they're on i'll fit the new springs and shocks on the back and deck it :)

Also already fitted an OMP steering wheel, and had to replace the rocker cover gasket, header tank and airbox as the one that came on it was the wrong one.

Well, lost my job the other day so progress will be even slower :(
Anyway, fitted a new lower ball joint and track rod end yesterday as they had gone, and also, there is a knock when you first touch the brake pedal, anyone have any idea what it could be?

Sold it to a mate, in bits atm with the engine out, should be back on the road next year with a modified 1300 in it. He's a member on here but I don't think he ever comes on.

Saloons on slabs now, and lowered a bit more, looks pretty sweet :) I'll get some pics tomorrow in daylight

Yeah it is Austin, never actually met him though.
Sweet, slabs have gone out of fashion a bit which makes me like them a bit more!

Well, just been and took some recent pictures of the Loon.
The back is supposed to be 100mm drop, but the springs were ebay jobbies and it looks no where near 100mm, but it'll do for now, probably gonna get some springs from Accustom Designs.
As you can see in the photos, the wheels are pretty chipped, but i'll give them a touch up on a dry day.
Fronts now lowered about 80mm, with a few more threads to go on the coilies but I don't think it needs it tbh.

Trackings getting done friday, so i'll give it a proper test to see how it handles then :)

Also, got a phone call today, and i've been offered a job at a Wetherspoons near me that opens in January, so if all goes well i'll have a decent amount of money to put into this :d
