Find a brown wire that will be the earth and a red one should be the live.
There is 2 of them hanging around there somewhere but ive forgot what they are for ive got spare ones....
Join extra wires to them and join them to your cig lighter.

so they will be behind the dash? my project car has one in but my daily has not?

Yes they are behind the dash if not then you can easily make an earth by drilling a hole somewhere and putting a screw in it with a wire on it.
Then there is a red wire in the fusebox you can take a power supply from, thats the proper way to do it i think but if you need an easy way to do it just find one of the red wires behind the heater controls somewhere, mine has definately got one.

Lol, if based on that paragraph you cant figure out how to wire a fag lighter in then i'd reccomend a mechanics course or something before even thinking about starting a project car!!
It's all about logic. Does the fag lighter in project car/mates car/next door neighbours car work when the ignitions turned off? Yes? well we'll assume its got a permenant live feed to it, else the ignition would have switched it off. No? well then we'll assume it runs on a switched live.
Now an earth is an earth is an earth. Its all connected to the bodywork of the car, look at your battery - where does the negative terminal lead connect to?
Either way based on this, whats the nearest source of either a permenant or a switched live? that's most likely to be attached with terminal blocks anyway, making it even easier to attach an extra cable to?? What sits above the fag lighter that's reliant on a constant power feed to keep its memory, but also turns itself on when you flick the igniton on? Your radio!
So, you then hit up google for the wiring colours for the radio harness, and tap into the correct colours for what you'd wanted.
Dont think im taking the piss - but if i explain it in this way, then it'll help you no end with your project as you'll start thinking more methodicly as to how you're going to make something work, and on common things i.e radios, fag lighters, light bulbs and **** like that its always worth a hunt on google for the answer to your question, have a little read up on what you're trying to do first cause you'll usually get a quicker answer!

Yeah ^^ Hes right.
I know for sure the yellow wire on the back of the hifi is the SWITCHED Live, that would make the fag lighter work aslong as the ignition is turned on, why not just use that.

No bother pal let me know if you get stuck and ill have a look at the wiring on my nova while its all hanging out and ill find out what wires you can use.
I spliced into the earth and live after ignition on my ignition barrell, i just used a power probe to find out which was which
Ps. I would wire in a fuse aswell just incase, i wired in the fuse that the cigarette lighters use in the haynes manual, cant remember it off the top of my head

If i just said "this is what you do, do xyz" then you'd not learn **** all by it. Explaining it in the way i did is going to sort you out for wiring in ANYTHING aditional to your cars interior...but hey, if im being not very helpful and a smartarse then i'll leave you to it. I did state that i wasnt taking the piss. If thats the way you usually react to someone trying to teach you something about something you know nothing about then it's no wonder you've got no electrical knowledge!! :tard:
Btw - yellow's only on the radio side. Unfourtunately as i've found the radio harness on the nova is a real pig cause the heavier gauge wire on my head unit is the permanant live, not the earth as it is on the fecking nova loom lol
Brown thick wire is earth, black and red are permenant and switched live...and i cant remember which way round that goes. Thats on the car side of the loom.
And i'd use a fuse holder of some sort, as it will at somepoint get shorted out and set your car on fire otherwise.
But hey, what'd i know
At least you got a wiring harness for your headunit, mines hardwired in standard lol

I diddnt :(
Had to cut the plugs on the loom as my adaptor had been cut to **** by the previous owner - hence why i can remember the wiring colours!!
Mine came standard hardwired lol, fitting the new headunit was fun... not.
And yea been there done that, this is what i was greeted with when i first bought my other nova lol, arcing out the lot, no wonder the headunit i got with it was fooked lol. Sorry for the hijack btw
