View Full Version : Porus Head Fix
I seem to be having some luck selling these on the bay and just thought to myself...IF i ever get round to building my engine, would it be worth doing the pipe mod even though the head isnt porus?
I've heard it strengthens the area and stops it from cracking, so I did it on mine.
might as well then...might buy a nice 4m length from work...should get a fair few out of that :p
On my "to do" list lol not that mine is porous but might aswell get it done.
great myths of the redtop part2......
since when has a crack been classed as porosity???
honestly, prevention is better than cure

I used the word crack are you proud of me Mowgie?
i am proud iain,
its a casting fault, so i'm not too sure that fitting a pipe in will strengthen it, but when it cracks, the pipe will stop it leaking.

Mine was sleeved, to stop it, then the head still developed hair line cracks in, luckily it was spotted during a head rebuild, so they welded them up and re sleeved it again.
