i was going to fit a f13cr standard but have been offered one with a 4.18 crown and pinion what would be the benefit?
it will accelerate faster with 4.1 than a 3.7 or 3.9 usually found in the F13CR

I've heard it knocks the top end down is this correct and is it by alot ?
cr boxes do knock top speed down a bit but when do you do over 100mph anyway? non cr boxes are better for motorway cruising due to lower revs at cruising speed

F15cr boxes are fine tbh I had one on my old C16xe, what is your car being used for i.e road, track or sprints?

Track and road.
Those f13cr's with the 4.18 fd are quite hard to get hold of, and thats what i would run, but top speed will be limited quite abit

How much by does anyone have one of these boxes on the car?

Would having the f13cr with 4.18 fd make it slower or faster at a 1/4 mile run than one with a standard f13cr?
faster for accelertion purposes, would top out about 120 (when i calculated it on stu's sig) but you wouldnt do that on the strip.
easiest way to get one with a 4.18 is buy the f13cr and an f10 with the 4.18 Final drive and swap it. im on the look out for a cheap f13wr so i can take the 5th gear off that so cruising is at a good rev range.

sorry to hi-jack but whats the fd of a f16cr from a 1.8 cav? as i could do with a longer 5th as it sits at 3k at 70mph
