Right, finally got my new gear box in and all plumbed in. Thought everything was going swimmingly. Then I go to start it, it won't start, the engine shakes like it's on an ann summers vibrator and the gear lever (the one in the car) feels like I'm trying to stir porridge with it.

It's gone from a 4 speed to a 5 speed (F10 I think it runs on a standard 1200ST engine)

Any help with some pictures/advice please??

This is doin my head in...

The only thing i can think of is to check your gearbox mount and all the engine mounts. either that or the engine is engaged in gear even when the shifter is in neutral. This will then most probaly be a linkage problem which im guessing is the conclusion you came to, it appears i am of no help ha.

may also be a clutch problem! or even a compination of all 3 if your really unlucky

Have you aligned the gear linkage correctly? does the gearlever have the lug that needs cutting off?
