finally got some time to fit my manifold, just a quick question at the end of the manifold the part that connects to the exhaust it has a flange on it

the exhaust that i have on at the moment is a powerflow s/s jobie that is welded onto my standard manifold.
should i just drop my entire system of the nova fit the manifold then just take it to a exhaust place that will weld a flange onto the exhaust then stick it on? or is there a better way to do it thanks alot

also should i change the exhaust manifold gasket?

Could you not chop the flange off and sleeve it?

Thats what most places do these days and im sure your local exhaust place could/would supply you with a suitable sleeve to fit:thumb:

sleeve fit is a bodge imo, try get a flange and weld it on your exhaust so both can be bolted together

most custom exhast place's use the sleeve method

the way i connected up my 4 branch was to cut the flange off and buy a short flexi pipe si if theres any difference in matching up the flexi takes care of it

i think i would rather get a matching flange welded onto the exhaust system as sleeving does seem rough to me even though i dont no anything at all about exhaust lol

i will take it down to a exhaust place near me and see what they recommend, should i put a new mani gasket on or will the old one be okay to reuse

When our place replaces enxhausts on Renaults, the Renault approved method (bearing in mind theyre all solid systems, clio sport and the likes i mean mainly) is to cut the old section off, and fit the new section using a proper sleeve, like this one.... (which is branded VAG, so they must use them aswell)

The right way is to use the correct flange and appropriate gasket (conical mesh jobbie). Then the two pieces are done up with sprung bolts to allow the system to move a bit.

If you sleeve it tight and the exhaust moves about a lot when cold one of the welds somewhere will crack, stainless is brittle at the best of times.

yeah take it down to greenwoods richie , i had a flange welded on to suit mine , and you might aswell get a new manifold to head gasket as there only cheap :thumb:
