As above how should i go about getting the colour back into my car. Its quite badly faded and the driver door is a diffrent red lol its just a winter car till my projects done but would like to have it looking have decent.

i was thinking of g3 with a machine polisher and then some colour magic t-cut?

Have you used a machine polisher before, as if you havent you will probably do more damage than good tbf lol

But yes G3 is what you wants, give it a right good cut back, then go over it again with a softer pad using G10 to really bring the shine back, you will then need to wash the car off using a powerful jetwash (if using a steam cleaner, set it to cold as heat bakes the compound onto the car, and cold shifts it far better) then you will need to give the car a couple of coats of good wax or sealer which is the bit most people forget about and if you dont do this, the colour will go worse pink than it was originally!

You will also need to stay ontop of polishing it fairly regularly as it will always fade again, only a respray will truly fix lame pink paint lol

Here's my old red one if you need some inspiration...

The 3m range of machine compounds/polishes are much better than g3/g10
And its all dry use!

Best thing ive used on faded red paint is used engine oil. It really works.

This. There is a whole world of advanced compounds and polishes out there that makes G3 pretty much a last resort in terms of cut and finishing down.

Agreed with Spudly, i did my old mk2 about a year ago, and in my opinion completely ****ed it lol
Would rather pay for someone else to do it tbh.

used a couple different grades strting with the finest first to see what was needed

used with a rotary buffer

Menzerna make great polishes, even some of the heavier cutting polishes such as 203s on a polishing pad will give you a 'finish' without having to refine with 85rd etc

i own these and several others

enzerna Fast Gloss S500
Menzerna Power Finish PO85RD3.02
Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD

when i resprayed my ex's tigra rear quarter i used the fast gloss then the power finish and the finish was amazing, i coulda used the final finish but even with the power finish it was good

i used G3 on my BM, washed it, threw a bucket of water over it and went at it wet :D didnt have to dry it lol.

then used super resin on top of that, then wax. and on the whole it doesnt fade no where near as bad. i get some slight colour loss over about a month but no massive patches of pink.
