View Full Version : Incar brands trackday
Hopefully this is a video of the recent Retro cars trackday at Brands, please exscuse the start and finish ,i dont know how to edit the videos yet,the car was a bit of a handfull had a handling issue that was sorted later in the day so i was a bit slow into Paddock and Druids and for some reason the sound is a bit funny ,but it gives you a bit of an idea what it sounds like:thumb:

Looks like RWD at the start..!
edit : 5:22s, is that warp speed?
There is a real bad vibration at high speed which the gopro didnt like ,we tried to balance the front wheels and found the front tyres are no longer round ,which cant help!

Awesome video, certainly flies through those corners
That was very slow through the corners ,the car was not handling at all making it very difficult to carry any speed and be committed ,it was far better in the afternoon 2to 3 seconds a lap quicker but the battery run out on the camera

oh lol, fair enough, its quick enough for me lol. You use a GoPro?

Yes i have just bought it so a little unsure on how to use it although the picture is good its picking up some vibration or something to mess the sound up

You want a bit of foam / rubber in between the camera & solid mount. Did you build the car yourself? It seems to handle well albeit driven a bit aggressively to warm tyres up with a lovely lady in the passenger seat.
Is the internal linkage going straight to the turret? Is it a new modification & you're just getting used to it? Seems like the opposite of mine; longer front to back, shorter side to side.
You're running a standard rack & track rod ends / knuckles right..?
Was that run on sports tyres or road legal slicks?
Props to the skinny girl not even making a sound & not looking too white at the end of it - seems like marriage material to me.
^
its a race car so full slicks ,rather try to warm them properly than go backwards into the nearest gravel trap:eek:
What's the engine spec? Full car spec? Goes bloody well.
Most of the info re spec should be in my wip under smallblock race car:thumb:

Have you mounted the bearing underneath on the steering knuckles or are they on top like a standard track rod end?
Awesome! Goes bloody well!
Cant remember but it was done by someone who knows what they are doing ,as it was corner weighted and camber castor etc done, why do you ask?

Just the amount of wheel juggling you're having to do at times.
Have you mounted the bearing underneath on the steering knuckles or are they on top like a standard track rod end?
Can you run them like that? Or does the knuckle need counter sinking?
If you read the original post, i posted that there was a handling issue that was sorted later in the day ,we found a loose rear wheel bearing that was causing the rear to behave in strange ways hence some of the corrective steering it is normally very predictive when the tyres are warm:thumb:

Hmmm would never have been able to tell from the video something wasn't quite right, I suppose you do have enough turn in.
Yeah the knuckles need work done Benn.
