So if I wanted to find out the weight Distribution of a car where and or how could I do it ?

The reason I ask is I can see my self trying to improve it in the future by lighting my front end with fiberglass panels to take away from the excess weight of the xe being there, I know I properly won't ever bother but I still want to know lol

you basically weigh all 4 wheels at the same time with corner scales...then do some sums.

I have the sums here to work out the centre of gravity here, then you work from there

We can also do it here in Bromsgrove. Do you just want to know the current wieght's or want a setup?

turbojolt

Right now only want to know the weights to see any further improvements on the % front to back

"...Jack the car up and..." fail. Think about it.

If you're smart you could make your own corner scales like I did for less than £40. What surprised me was the N/s front being heavier than O/s...

turbojolt
10-11-11, 09:26 PM
And how did you do it then mate

wwmnw
10-11-11, 09:36 PM
4 sets of bathroom scales, a kipper and a bottle of orange soda?

There's a few guides around about using 4/8 sets of cheap scales, but if Tom's offering he's not far away and you'll no doubt get some good advice to go with it.

turbojolt
11-11-11, 09:33 AM
Sounds like my best bet really, just need to get the car back now lol

turbojolt
11-11-11, 09:36 AM
And the other thing is I don't want to have a car that's only good on the straight like people say about big block novas, I want it to be able to handle the power lol that why I want to keep the engine std and just spend money getting the handling spot on

mowgli

People who say an xe nova is only good in a straight line fall into 2 groups, and both are wrong.

Get someone to drive over your foot with each wheel then mark them out of ten

BRoadGhost
11-11-11, 10:50 PM
Yeah you want four bathroom scales per corner & some MDF to ensure each wheel is at the same height.

The only reason why I said fail at jacking it is because the moment you start taking readings from the car not as it would be at rest on the road then they're wrong.

Toymex is that an xe nova?
