Just picked this up;

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/028-10.jpg

It was professionally built out of a BRAND NEW Zero miles road car, and fitted with a brand new set of Koni Sports suspension, and then they had a complete set of interior panels made in carbon fibre (including the dashboard);

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/041-4.jpg

I got all the moulds for the carbon panels with the car, plus a whole lot of boxes of bits to put the thing back together again.

Just look at that dashboard, it's a real work of art.........and I have the mould for it too (Mike, are you reading this, I'm going to need someone to make me more of these these panels!).

A quick trial fit of the dashboard in a Nova;

Obviously it will need a bit of fettling to fit, but how nice would that look in a Nova?

Oh my that's a seriously sweet looking project. Whats the plans for it?

Don't really know, if I had the time/energy I'd definitely fancy building it up as a 20v Turbo powered thing. That was the plan which the guy who built it had, it came with a set of engine mounts and custom made driveshafts to suit that engine/box.

But in reality I've been involved in so many race car builds that I just know it will spiral out of control and end up costing way too much, as I'll never be happy unless it has the best of everything on it.

So I will probably just get it rolling and looking like a complete car, sell it on and leave someone else to build it to their own specification. There can't be many brand new Lupo shells around, let alone rece-prepped ones.

I think the Lupo is a great looking car, and they certainly seem to be popular, looking on the VW forums. There's a reasonable number of them racing as well......on that note if anyone knows someone who is competing in a Lupo, please let me know.

And assuming I can find someone to produce the carbon fibre panels at a sensible price, I'd like to see if there's a market for selling those (particularly the dashboards, which should be simple to adapt to fit other cars).

Wow - would make an amazin project for someone - if only I had the money, time and space :)

Those carbon panels look like a work of art - certainly a market for that sort of stuff

That looks very nice, perfect base for an awesome race car. Would be a good contender in the vag trophy cup with a 20vt fitted

i drive a 1.4 lupo as a daily and its a right laugh of a car. handles well and nippy enough for a 1.4 100 bhp.

most def makes me think about jacking the nova off and giving this car a good engine and having more fun. but nahhh. have two fun cars is better then one.

good luck with it thou colin

I've not had chance to do anything with this, although I hope to soon.

I did buy some wheels for it though;

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/006-52.jpg

They are 8" x 18" so they will take some fitting I expect! The tyres are being fitted today.

We also used the mould for the dashboard to produce another one in fibreglass, which has now been fitted to the Mk.2 Fiesta XR2 circuit race car of a friend of mine;

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/007-45.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/008-40.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/009-39.jpg

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/010-38.jpg

Don't worry, it won't be staying green, it will probably be flocked when it's finished.

I should have prices for early next week from the composites company I use.

The one in the Fiesta was done as a favour for my mate.

I decided that the 8" x 18" wheels were going to be too much on the Lupo, so I've ditched that plan, and have got some lovely Desmond Regamasters in 7" x 16" to go on the Lupo;

http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll66/hillclimbescort/006-53.jpg

These are about the lightest weight wheel you can buy, and should suit it well.

I now have prices on all the Lupo parts (in fibreglass or carbon fibre), as well as the dashboard if anyone fanices one of those to adapt for their Nova.

Drop me an e-mail direct if you're interested please.

When you say out of the way are you just building it up a little to sell on or making it so it's easy to move?

I will be building it up to be a rolling shell and then selling it (hopefully before I move, but that depends!).

As of today the Lupo is rolling, and we're in the process of fitting glass, door trims, steering column etc.

It's looking brilliant...........photos to follow soon.

Looks awesome! My mates in the process of building a supercharged 2l Lupo for track days.should be interesting as its never been done before. Currently running a 160bhp supercharged 1.4 that flies so god knows what the new one with 240ish bhp will be like lol.

Just doing it as a shell for the next owner, then they can decide what they want to do engine-wise.

I need to sell it, along with the 2 Lupo donor vehicles I have as well! So, if anyone needs anything for a Lupo, drop me an e-mail, I have masses of spares.

It came with a set of brand new Koni Sport coilovers fitted to it, so that's what I will be selling it with.

I'd recommend you buy this rolling shell from me, with all the carbon fibre bits, trick lightweight wheels, welded in rollcage, brand new bodyshell, it will be the best upgrade of all...........

Yes, they certainly did Mike.

That's if they bother to collect/pay for it, all I seem to get is timewasters at the moment, it's becoming a bit farcical selling on EBAY.
