So... We know they go into Cav's and MK3 Astra's, BUT Will one go in a MK4 Astra G?

If anyone has any info/links please post up etc.

If anything, it would be easier to fit into a mk4.

This is what i thought, but would like to see if it's been done, if it has then some one else will have done the hard work to be copied, as if i decided to up some power from mine I'm thinking engine conversion instead, but z20let/leh's are too expensive imo, and V6 is too heavy for power return imo, so was thinking the sensible option would be saab turbo power, as it works well in mk3's etc, but this would be a possible idea in a far off future etc..

Just search astra saab and you see it, no engine pic though..

Any engine will go in any car.

Certain saab 2.3 turbo's had a GM bellhousing pattern, i belive the big block gearbox fits up perfectly well.

If you can put a 2.0 16v in it, you can put a saab engine in it, but it WILL need the engine mounts re fabricating, a ****load of wiring, and on the saab blocks a lot of the water outlets and such are in weird places. They are also quite tall, so bonnet clearance may be an issue.

Think theres a youtube clip out there of a nova with a saab v6 in it...Betcha that would have made some horn inducing noises!

Think people say the 2ltrs are better as they can rev more then the 2.3

And i belive at some stage they did make a turbocharged version of that engine - dont count me on that one though!!

you can get a full running coupe with tax and mot in reasonable condition for 1500 these days so makes me laugh when breakers like turbo chris still ask 2k for an engine

My mate big steve has two Saab powered astra vans, both 2.0 versions, one a mk3 and one a mk4, mk3 running around 280bhp, standard turbo and internals, just remapped ecu on T5 Suite.

He's target is 450-500 on the mk4 with standard internals, gt30, mainfold, ext w/gate, 680 cc injectors, sounds crazy on standard internals, but its ture, wildly over engineered engines, great stuff.

He smoked ma other mate in his MK2 RS Focus on Sunday there at knockhill, focus running 400bhp kit, needless to say focus chap not happy at all.

^^ I've been as a passenger in the mk3 around knockhill, never been so scared in my life before lol

I've got a vid of him beating the RS too but its on my old phone

the weight issue of a v6 over a lardy saab engine with turbo charger, intercooler etc etc will be dubious. also in standard form the powers not that much different.

Looks as if only a few have read my post, this is NOT for a nova, but the ASTRA mk4...

V6s are a good choice in a mk4 imo!
