Just put a corsa b -60mm kit on my 1.5td.
All bolts up right on the back, sits higher than it did on the -80 setup and feels better. However on the front it sits as low as it did on the coil overs, the springs don't sit quite right in the strut tops and it bangs clunks and makes odd springy noises when you turn a corner.
I'm assuming therefore that the issue lies with running nova strut tops on corsa struts?
Should be the same, mate of mine ran nova struts on a corsa for a bit. Sure you've not missed a bit on the top mounts? Corsa kit should sit way higher than it was, standard nova springs on a corsa drop it about 60mm
corsa and nova are the same pal you must have put it together wrong strip it down and post pics and ill show you which way it goes

I've got metal cone bit pointing up into the strut top, strut top bolts upward obviously, then small metal cone pointing down into the rubber. Nut ontop of that - ill post pics of how the car sits when I get home but I think I've put the first metal cone in upside down like a plank
Fairly sure both bits point the same way like you say, they should sit inside each other iirc.

may also be youve got springs for a lighter petrol engine in a deisel but would check the above first
Even if it is for a lighter petrol engine, 60mm drop from a corsa will be plenty stiff enough to cope.

depending on make of springs and age ect
was saying this because of the bottoming out type noises he described

They're sitting inside each other as it sits now. However the front is about 40mm lower than the rear
Springs and shocks are Jamex and have 2 months use on em

Looking at a guide for lowering a corsa B....

This strut top looks nowt like what i've got on my car!
The black piece directly on top of the spring just isnt there on mine - im assuming that was removed when the coilovers were fitted, or that they run a different strut top?

And thats how the car currently sits. :wtf:
By the looks of things what i have is below (the coilover) and what i need is the above (standard strut). It seems the metal cone i have is part of the coilover kit, and aftermarket, and that there's a large rubber/metal round part missing.

What i currently have is everything above the gold part of strut top on the coilover pictured, whacked directly ontop of the spring. I belive this is a large amount of my problems as that'd cause all sorts of **** to go wrong!! Back to the parts shop tomorrow morning methinks...
Gold bit is the only aftermarket part, everything above that is standard, the 'black bit' is the spring platform for the standard spring, gold bit is the spring platform for the coilovers.

Ahh, but it still means i've got no spring platform currently on my car - im gonna fit some complete corsa top mounts and everything on later on tonight. Hire companys just called up to say i've had no insurance on the rental scince the 3rd!!
sounds about right pal, i bet that drove like a kant!

Still does, teddythoms at work and my jackstands/spring compressors are at his place! D'oh!
I predict still sitting outside my house in the freezing cold and rain at around 2am...
sounds like a **** night pal, you will get there in the end though!
-60s on standard shocks? i know mine pretty much say on the bump stops in standard shocks with -60s

Lol, i put the 60 springs on the matching shocks they came with - the standards are for sale as it was cheaper to buy a complete corsa strut as opposed to the bit i needed!
Either way it's all fitted the car tracks straight, no bumping and looks ****ing awesome. Had a stupid grin all over my face after taking it out for a run and I'm finally sure I've done the right thing buying another nova!! Well happy - took pics of how I had it before so nobody else does what I did!
Nice one, glad you're happy with it, main thing it needed was a decent suspension set up :)

True that, turns out it tracks fine now! all of that was down to the coilovers...
Now the only realy serious worry is dealing with all the rust propperly...rear arches & sills being the only properly bad bits
