can people tell me the diferance in the red top 20l and the ecotec 20l i no theres a slight power diferance but what else would it be the same to do the convertion ive been ofered 1 for ?300ono with ecu +loom and are the drive shafts the same as i may be haveing a wide track kit fitted cheers
less power and more complicated engine. steer clear of the ecotec 2L. red top is simple and reliable

do ecotecs have imbolilisers and cr@P ?
not certain of this Mike but i'm sure they are the same as the 1600 eco engine, as in older ones don't have built in immob's.

Engine management = Nightmare on the Ecotecs.
There are so many XE's around for cheap money go for them.
