Yes another Nova, i sold my Mk4 Astra Sri Turbo regretfully as i needed something cheap to run to get me by. This allowed me to buy the TD and this track car that i bought from Bainyboy_SR. Was near as damn it complete and had already seen some track action, but i just had a few tweeks to do to it before i was happy enough to track it.
Heres some pics after i got it home and gave her a bit of a clean and added the spoiler back in July 2011...

Glad to see you have started a thread on the track car matey, I was in this a few times back when ricky owned it and was really quick.

Aye wasnt quite sure what to expect with this but having had it out a few times now im really surprised. Not sure if the XE has had anything done to it but by jings it shifts and so far seems to be quite a bit quicker than any of the other standard XE Novas or Corsas ive come up against. Well happy so its another keeper :thumb:

Yeh have been meaning to ask ricky if he knows whats been done to it if anything as obviously i'd like to make mods myself, but having raced it now am a bit wairy as i dont want to change something that could in turn could make it slower if you know what i mean.

Aye 15" stealths, not on it anymore though as they rubbed like a barsteward....

Had a disc rear axle in the garage, this also belonged to Bainyboy_SR in the past i was told. Wanted semi decent anti roll bar on the rear and as i never managed to get anything sorted with Whiteline so decided to make something myself. Had a cavalier sri axle sitting for the rear discs so after a few measurements thought the antiroll bar on this would work.

Removed glass from drivers side headlight and fitted a CDA filter to the back of it for direct air whilst on track. Also fitted a front lower strut brace, front anti-roll bar and a rear stut brace to help stiffin the car up even more. Added some RS Turbo vents to the bonnet for extra cooling aswell, not the best job ive done but will do til i can get the bonnet painted properly. Also fitted some cavalier vdo guages into the din pocket for the stereo. Swapped the Stealths for cavy fans and finally fitted locking pins to the bonnet, tailgate and bumpers for quickness of removal and track safety should it go t*ts up.

Any pics of the car on the floor with that brace on?
I had the U shaped ones on and hanged too low so was catching on the floor too much

Not got one just now but will try take one tomorrow and get it up for you. Had no issues with this one at all other than the lambda sensor just happens to land right under it so had to mod the lambda for the time being until i get a different manifold. It does sit very close tho the gearbox aswell but definately not got the issues other people seem to have with them...

This thread is giving me a lot of ideas, the rear arb is deffo something I want to try and do when I get my Nova. Did it on my Corsa C and made a good difference even though it was of a 1.6 cav (17mm arb)

Good stuff, rear arb is pretty easy to do and deff a worth while mod for the track. Seemed to make a big difference although both times ive been up its been either damp or tipping it down so yet to put it to the test on a dry day.

cars looking well mate glad to see your doing it justice , in regards to the engine mods it was originally a c20xe dispack engine i converted it to a coil pack engine and changed the exhaust cam , previous owner before me fitted a cosworth fuel pump , is has vxr injectors power cap fuel pressure regulator , ans i was told it was supposibly chipt have no proof mate hope this helps dam that rear axle gets about lol

Braw cheers mate, will have a look inside ecu to see if chips been changed. :thumb:
All ive done tweek wise is upped the fuel pressure a little bit. Want to put bigger cams and a bigger manifold on it at somepoint aswell.
Came across that white novavan that you see in the vid a few times, would come out of clarks / carlube corner onto the bottom straight and pass them like they were standing still and that goes pretty well at the best of times so its deffo got good power. :d

As you can see in the pics the lower brace doesnt sit down any lower than the exhaust or that so is actually quite a good fit!

lol It was one of my 1st sessions out in nearly 3 years so was bount to happen, was just lucky it didnt go over as we were up on 2 wheels having clipped the high bit of the curb :tard:

where did you get the lower strut brace from, ive been looking for a while and had no look at all.
