Seen threads like this before and everyone seems to think the f13 close ratio box is the best
for a track car, the f13cr has too tall a diff, i think a 4.18 from the old sr gearbox would be a bit better, but it all depends on what tyre/wheel combo you plan to use.
the f13 diesel box is massively over geared for a track car, but i am basically using one with my 1.6 & it is ok on the road.

So an f13cr with a 4.18 diff. anyone ever used an F10 or is this impossible/pointless?
The gear sets are the same, the f13 just has a bigger bell housing for the 200mm flywheels found on the higher powered engines.

oh i see, will the smaller flywheel fit a 1.6?
I'm not 100% sure but the flywheel will fit but you have to change starter motor too.
if you have a 1.6, then an f10 will not fit. the f13 bellhousing is bigger, the flywheel is bigger & the starter motor site further out.

F15CR from a Corsa Sport is supposedly the best box.
I understand there is a Corsa D with the F13CR with a 4.29 FD.... ok its got a hydro clutch but you can easily swap out the casing and diff to a manual clutch box.
im in the dilemma with my gte at the moment what to do. ive got an f10 with the 4.18 FD so could put that in the f13 but i know its going to be revving like made at 70mph on the motorway.
is it possible to swap the 5th gear out of a f13wr(or other box) onto the f13cr cluster?
you can fit the 5th gear into another cluster, to give a decent economy top gear.
you can fit the innards from an f10 into an f13 for it to fit 1.6

F15 internals in an F13 casing (clutch access plate) with a LSD of your choice.
Personally I think the ratio's & FD are fine for an 8v if using the std gearbox, but if the motor is highly tuned then an altered FD might be beneficial.
