x16xel wont start, conked out HELP PLEASE!!

thought id try the clever people of png...
been out and about all day and not had any bother then left it for a about an hour or two and went out to pick up a takeaway.. driving along all is well for about 2-3 minutes the eml came on and lost everything...cut out
had the jump leads on and a gallen of juice in and its trying but not starting, battery is starting to get v.low now. its cranking ok, occasionally it'll fire once if i leave it 5 mins but wont start... but now the battery is about pooped, as i said iv had the jump leads on and its occasionally tried but nothing...
temp is fine and all that. nothing visual in the engine bay but just wont start...

please please help me :cry:

check for spark and if their is fuel pressure in the rail

plugs are only a week old and leads aint bad but yeah, will do...
if any of them are at fault will that come up on diagnostics test or paper clip test??

i havent a clue when it comes to lecky

also were do i get the fault code list??

if you have feel and spark it could be the crank sensor,

you could do the paper clip test on it

the ecu codes are on topbuzz, the x16xel uses a 4 digit ecu code

to me it looked like you put the paperclip in the rong connections and it didnt start and stop the cycle,

its fuse wire mate but iv checked and double checked that, bridged 5 to 6, tried it a few times and thats rite for the 16 prong one... nowts coming up
any other ideas?

yeah mate pre 97 had 10pin mines a 99 with 16 pin... deffo no codes coming up...

got the 4 relays out from under the scuttle but how do i check they are working??

noise is coming from fuel rail somewhere and is only on when ignition is on...??

think it was just a lose connector on the fuel pump.... had the eobd on and it confirmed exactly what the paperclip test did (no faults)... sorted now

LOL no worrys mate, was good fun taking everything apart to find out it was just the fuel pump being a bitch.
