well, engine braking isn't bad driving.. using wing mirrors is ok, and any woman who can actually go fast round corners is a good thing...

tbh he wants her to pass her test (well actually he dosent but you know what I mean), and as such dosent want her picking up failable driving traits from van man....

mowgli
02-11-11, 09:13 PM
the worse habit she'll pick up is the one where she puts the seat in a proper position with legroom.... so he can't look down her front...

turbojolt
02-11-11, 09:17 PM
Hopefully she does pass this time she is ready apparently just needs to stay away from me lol 3rd time lucky and all that

mowgli
02-11-11, 09:19 PM

As Stuparp said, he's teaching her to pass the test. Mind you, I'm sure I was taught engine braking but that was a few years ago now.

As for 3rd time, pah. 7th is when you start asking questions lol

turbojolt

I don't like to even count her first one she was no were near ready due to the complete Dick that was ment to be teaching her, but this new instructor is spot on

Some people arent meant to drive... plain and simple (the people too)

someone i knew had failed her theory test 9 times.... i advised her that maybe it was gods way of saying 'take the bus'

wwmnw
02-11-11, 09:56 PM
I must have been born to drive then, passed my theory first time still drunk and passed my practical first time (sober) 10 minors though lol attempting a 3 point turn in 2nd gear is never a good idea once, twice was quite embarrassing lol

turbojolt
02-11-11, 09:57 PM
She passed her theory first time and her last test was carved up by some cock in a beemer that was classed as a serious fault on her behalf but other then that 1 serious she only had 5 minors which is good

wwmnw
02-11-11, 10:00 PM
Surely she'd be better off just sucking the tester off for a pass?

My mother in law took 9 attempts to pass her practical test. Her driving is awful. Definatlty not a born driver.

My mother took 21 goes to pass her test 100's of lessons and ended up using a hypnotherapist to make her believe she could pass. lol

As for engine braking, they started discouraging you from using it a few years back as apparently brake pads are cheaper than clutches. well that's what i was told for my class 2 test.

Jack

That explains why nobody under 25 can drive on ice & snow then. lol

Also you get shag all engine braking from a Derv / lots of cars are slushers these days so again no engine braking there.....

on our big scanias, they use a lot of engine braking, with in built retarders to do a lot of the braking effort..

The big problem with a td is since they made them all revvy, when they are on boost, there is no engine braking left, so they have to engineer it back in...
