was more to see how they got the run down figure thats all.... as with the dials its near impossible

nova_t
02-11-11, 11:20 PM
what do u mean by run down figuers lol

Stuart
02-11-11, 11:22 PM
run down = the way to get from the wheel power (what the dyno sees) and the invented flywheel figure.

nova_t
02-11-11, 11:24 PM
oh i see no i only got that one think his machine in the second pic on the right tells him everything else not sure but that was the figures

Does seem a bit too good though - what chips are you running? at 10 psi I would expect around 230/240 really! But then it does depend on a million variables...

nova_t
03-11-11, 05:57 PM
no chips mate just standerd managment i was shocked to be honest didnt expect that much myself and yh its a proper sleeper shocks a few ppl lol

My sexy up is very much like yours, bar i have the xe inlet cam, mine made 222brake at the flywheel on Sat.. After 3 std cars all making correct power... Their dyno might want a tweeking..

nova_t
03-11-11, 06:17 PM
sorry forgot about that it got xe cam aswell

I know a few people that have been there in the past and none would go back. Not the most accurate place in the world

run down = the way to get from the wheel power (what the dyno sees) and the invented flywheel figure.

Sunram dials (as seen in the pictures) do read negative, so you get a rundown figure off of them.

You were also quite close to maxing them out as they can't read anything over 320 lol

nova_t

never mind it run what it run ill do a few more things then get it dynod else where i only pay i dont do the dynos

I'd get it dyno'd elsewhere and then 'do a few more things' as otherwise you have no correct base figure.

You know what some one is going to have to make a list of trusted dyno operators as it seems no one trusts any power figures when a thread like this comes up

Track and Road is a popular one, I also work at an RR I know to be accurate but that doesn't mean anyone else does :p

I thought red dot were good but some people slate them you never know what to believe

nova_t

no one can be sure if when some one puts up a dyno result if its accurate or not due to two engines never being the same ie wear on engine how engine as been looked after .all i knw is where i had mine done my friend had his done then he had it done at santapod raceway and there was 1 bhp different between the two dynos

There are two publicly accessible chassis rolls I trust.

Track and Road in Essex and Jams 2wd rollers (not been near their 4wd setup)

Im not sure dads "doing" each other came up in my school lol

But I agree, welcome the the club nova_t, not many have said about how nice/clean/good the car is, just slated the rollers.

Ahh well lol

Looks a nice car fella, propper sleeper, and I'd say the power is a tiny bit hi, but rollers mean funk all, its how it drives on the road that counts!

my old xe on bike carbs ran 183bhp on those rollers and imo i wouldnt go back there as the service was ****e lol

Personally i trust Dave at MEK, and i know of at least two/tree others off here would/do to as his service is awesome, and his rollers IMO are spot on.

Shark performance in mansfield has brand new rollers and they are very precise, i know the owner and was thinking of arranging a rolling road day there but i cba lol

After putter two standard cars on the rollers at Janspeed, i can say they are correct.

agreed, everytime anyone posts results it always comes back to the dyno being wrong and all that shiyte and its always the same people that say it too!

60bhp from just an intercooler and inlet cam is pretty good in anyones books to gain...IF its a bog standard ecu with no chipsets? ive read everyone saying the rollers are out or there good etc, but 270bhp is phase 2 chipset power imo. so i can see why some people think rollers are telling porkies. + run down isnt the most acurate of getting back to fly figures, tyres, gearbox etc plays a big part on the differance

but tbh number are for pub talk if it drives well then thats all that matters:D

Were is janspeed and how much do they charge

nova_t
06-11-11, 06:43 PM
well i aint really fussed about the dyno to be honest only had it done because i though it was abit quick for standerd and it is fast for standerd running 13.3 down shakespear raceway i think is really good for standerd engine and road tyres.but will be getting it dynod else where me and sneakycorsa are gunna be arranging a dyno day at tvr dont think you could get better rollers than them
