View Full Version : Getting excited :D
Now i can see the light at the end of the tunnel with the nova I've decided to get the basis for my next project :) picking up my first RWD griffin on the weekend, a blue 2 door saloon 1256 chevette rolling on some deep wellers :p. I'll get pics up when I go collect it and as long as there's no objections I'd like to do my project thread on here too (I tend to fall out with other forums :/)
This is all :)

IBTL lol look forward to pics
is it off the member who joyrode it at the national weekend?
I imagine many people would like to see it posted on here, I drove a 1256 Chevette back from Liverpool and loved it, except the 25 year old seats kinda swallowed me but it was fun to drive.

Hope so, should be a bit more 'out there' than the nova build :p
Never driven one myself and don't think I will be driving it as a 1256 :/

I fully intend to ;) chevette may be a long winded learning curve though, big plans. Not to say the nova wasn't lol

Sounds good, i have to say a chevette, kadet or viva would be next in line if i didn't have the saloon

That's no excuse lol. I've always fancied a viva/ascona/firenza/magnum/chevette but got sidetracked by nova's. Although I probably won't stick to it I've pretty much decided the VXR nova will be my last one..
Or a manta, mmm
well, you'll want more power after about 5 seconds of driving a chevette 1256.... cos they are slower than a slow thing
honestly, i once had an ex RAf estate one as a company car!!!! it was shyte.
I can imagine lol. I'd love an estate! I'll settle for the saloon though :)
the estates had the van diff, 5.1:1 iirc, and downhill, 4 up, it would do 65ishmph
the ex RAF ones were all jet black, and in remarkable condition, but just crap..
seriously, though, whats the engine plans??? the manta boys stick the 2.4 cih engine from the frontera in, the v6 omega has to be on the list too, or if you can find a decent donor, the good old 2.3 slant would be fun..
As much as I'd love to stay old school with it, I want to go big power mainly for pod fun and because I haven't done it yet. Also I'm liking the VXR theme I've got going on...
