With halloween looming, i fancied a go at carving a pumpkin. Ive never done this before and thought it would keep me occupied for an hour or 2, so sent the mrs shopping for a pumpkim for me to cut up.
I had a little look on google for a bit of info and to get an idea on the process. Found myself a design and made a little toolkit.

with my tools at the ready and my pumpin washed, i set about tracing my design on to the pumpkin with a pointy type tool, i used a little phillips screwdriver to punch little holes in the skin.

After i had finished transferring my design on to the pumpkin i washed it again to get rid of any bits of paper, then cut a lid and started scooping the insides out with a large spoon.

All scooped out

Then i started to to carve out my design with my little pumkin saws i made from a jigsaw blade and a hacksaw blade. Connecting the marks i made earlier and removing the bits of pumpkin as i go.

The mouth was quite fiddly because its quite detailed, so a few mins later we have this

Ok , so with all the edges tidied up i then washed it again to get rid of all the little bits of pumpkin, placed my candles inside and lit them.

I think it turned out pretty well. Reckon im gonna do another tomorrow, lol. found it quite addictive.
