Just for fun as my brothers punto.will be back.on the rolling road soon for tweeks to.the map.and a.power run, its a 1.4 16v and as far as.we.know no one.has.gone this far yet with this car.and.engine.setup

Cold air induction kit
Ecu remap
port and.polished head
Custom Reground cams
421 manifold (heatwraped)
High flow.sports.cat
Custom s/s exhaust system

As said I know most people don't.give a crap.but let's just guess.for.fun and the closes gets some plus rep lol

unless you pocket the pistons

At the fly or.wheels mate

**** knows thought we were guessing!

turbojolt

Well it made 120hp and that was with the induction kit remap and exhaust system (and yes that fly power)

General Baxter

Cold air induction kit 0.5bhp
Ecu remap 4bhp
port and.polished head between -20 and 15bhp depending who did it
Custom Reground cams works in conjuction with above
421 manifold (heatwraped) 1 if you're lucky
High flow.sports.cat as above
Custom s/s exhaust system as above

As said I know most people don't.give a crap.but let's just guess.for.fun and the closes gets some plus rep lol

so somewhere between 100 and 140 if it made 120 before lol

Mate the cold air induction kit isn't some k&n jobbied its a propper bit of kit with you 0.5 HP lol

And the head work I'd a bit of a worrie as it was flow tested and did improve but who k.ows really if its going to be worth whill, but felt wrong having the cams done and not doing the head work

You think standard air feeds on cars are just botched up and chucked on? Most air filters sound nice but suck hot air, a cold air feed restores it back to standard, maybe plus 0.5hp if you're lucky and it happens to flow a bit nicer than the old setup.

Head can be flow tested but just made bigger with no real improvement to the actual dynamics of it, at least you know it won't flow less than it did though, so it should improve the top end at least.

Yer I see what your saying, hopefully it makes good power tbh were both hoping for around 140 HP but were just uave to see what happens as this will be the end of tuning this engine like it he is going to stop now and try and get a 1.4 turbo engine from one.of the bravos or fiat 500 abarth

i'd guess at no more than 10hp more than before, but less torque...

Back on the subject - if you lot are interested in seing approximate power gains there's a bit of software knocking about for the iPhone called dynolicious. Said software quoted my hire car at 110hp, and the manual states it should be 115.

Various YouTube experiments show the software to be accurate to around 5 horses either way - might be worth checking out!

Also records your 1/4 time and 0-60, g's and a load of other crap too.

That's well steep for an app, you can get a little purpose built device ('Gtech meter') that does the same for about £20 second hand..

Stuart

Does assume you can get an accurate weight of the vehicle though.

We could use some help here, the car isn't idling properly the cams have gone in as if they were standard but the tuning company are saying that the car don't need remapping as it all mechanical power gains??

Either way the car ain't running right what can we do.

Stuart
29-11-11, 09:45 AM
take it to a tuning company that arent retards.
