Im sure i started a thread about this a while ago, but since the upgrade no luck on searching.

Basically i want to polish my Porker 928 rims. I am going to purchase a polishing kit off ebay (comes with bonnets, soaps etc) but what grades of paper should i be using before hand??

rewarding, but a dirty job. make sure you laquer when you have finished else they will dull and pitt very quickly

I wouldn't bother with the lacquer, just maintain them

Don't lacquer them, world of pain. Just keep on top of the polishing, once done you can just clean by hand.

What polishing kit did you get? Bench grinder one yes?

I really wouldnt bother doing them yourself Pete when the likes of pristine wheels can do the job for you fairly cheap and save you many many hours of rub. They did Mark Ridley a set of th's not so long back with fantastic results for approx £150. Pretty sure they powdercoated them dark grey then diamond cut the faces after making a custom program up. Then finished them with clear and posted back all for the above price!! Well worth looking into Id say.

Cheers for the info Nick. I will look into it. Just if DIY them i will have some £££ left over for rubber lol

Youll struggle with a drill one, as you wont get the speed. One for a grinder/disc cutter would be better as they get alot more speed up. A bench one can be best. Get a 3 head/mop kit. Rough hard one, med and a soft final buff ones, with there soaps to match.
