nova gsi rep valver

hey been on this forum for a while but iv not posted up my nova yet.

i brought this car in june ish off a mate of mine who didn't have the time on his hands to finish it. the car started life off as a black 1.0 4speed and since then my mate had converted it to a gsi rep.

far as im aware the spec is :

c20xe
f16cr
full scorpion exhaust system
unknown 4-2-1 manifold
crappy halfrauds induction kit (temporary)
lmf engine mounts
top hat
mtec drive shafts and hubs
seam welded
unknown lowering springs and dampers
v6 groved dics and calipers
full gsi body kit
gsi clocks
sr interior
momo wheel
fox alloys for now

thats all i can remember for now.

the whole car has had a full respray in silk violet including the engine bay a few months back.

as the car stands its still not running the garage that was ment to be sorting it has just been messing me about and the cars been sat there for over a month and nothings been done to it so im having it towed back to mine and doing the work myself :(

as far as im aware to get the car running it needs a new fuel pump relay, fan mounting on the rad and a pipe to connect the header tank. if you can see anything else missing please let me no. the one thing that the garage did tell me is that it looks like my loom has been put in by my friend while he was wearing a blindfold and it could be the reason why its not starting so this week im going to rewire the loom. hopefully i wont need a new one because im skint atm. also they say that the ecu is not sending a signal but i think its probley bollox as the ecu is off a friend of mines old redtop engine and it worked fine on that.

the car trys to turn over. pops and bangs a lil and doesnt start :(

my plans at the moment are just to get the car running and on the road before Christmas its turning in to a ball ache.

it will probably be a slow build im no mechanic but i no what im doing thanks for reading updates to come soon

thanks :) and yh we took a plug of to check the spark and it was fine and the fuel pump works its just doesnt turn off atm. needs a fuel pump relay asap. its turned on once or twice thats about it

car should be coming back today or tommorow. another thing on my to do list is to fully strip most of the interior. seats, carpets etc and give them a proper wash down. the car stinks of oil and god knows what else as the interior had been sat in a container for a while and is filthy. any tips on the best way to take everything out and clean them properly ? one of my cousins that has a vxr suggested soaking the interior with some household cleaning products and hovering the moisture out and letting it dry but he only went through the process vaguely. will get pics as im doing it with the final result.

got the nova towed home today. me and a mate striped the interior out to be cleaned and also took the loom out which is a state ill put some pics up tommorow of it when its light again. got a friend comming tommorow with a boosted gsi and hes pretty clewed up about looms so hopefully he ll be able to save it. got some more pics today sorry about the quality blackberrys for you

bit of progress with the car today. exhausts of ready to be put back on properly. kind ov wedged the fan in its a ball ache to get in properly itll probably have to be cable tied. the car is also turning over but its getting no spark so hopefully get that sorted tommorow. progress might have it running this weekend :)

yes it can be taken off but you would need to do the internal cavalier shifter mod buddy

made a little more progress with the car today and came across another problem. got the car to spark finally didn't see the 2 little black wires i had to connect. on the downside i got told that the engines got the wrong timing belt on it causing it to slip when trying to start it so i cant do any more work untill a new belt is put on as it can do some serious damage :(. on the upside the car should turn on in theory just dont want to risk any more damage atm.

had a mate come down today who did a compression test for me which turned out fine. he mentioned that my timings out could this stop it from turning over ? its just popping and banging atm

finally got the car started today. sum retard put the ignition leads in the wrong order. gona solder the cables tommorow and get sum little bits and bobs done

doing some more work on the nova today. discovered that the sound deadening under the carpet is soaking wet so hoping that the humidifier will sort that out. if not bye bye sound deadening.
