right, rebuilding this engine etc etc you all know the score.

what oil shall i use?

on my first and second car ive ALWAYS used castrol gtx 15w40

should i continue to use this or summat else bearing in mind my engine mods?

i know i need oil change after first 1000 miles JIC theres shit left in oil ways from honing and surfacing block and acid dipping etc etc.

anyway

what oil guys in the long run?

I use mobil 1!!!!Read a report in total vauxhall about it and since then thats what ive used.

i don't normally even wait 1000 miles Mike before an oil and filter change on a rebuilt engine but its ok.
One thing i recommend though use a genuine GM filter especially after a rebuild.

when should i change my oil????????/

and i assume GM filter as it allows less particles through . its better / finer qulaity?

pretty much so. something ive always been told by people.
I would normally change oil and filter after 500 to 600 after a rebuild as im fussy about that sort of thing. but its probably me being over cautious....but thats the way i do it!! :)

there is special oil u can get for running the bottom end in

you shudnt really use normal oil if youv had work done on bottom end like that.

best oil without spending lotsa money is vuax semi

best filter is probly champion or vuax
