Or both, they come in handy with the more modern vehicles as most bolts are torx (male or female!)

I was confronted with Ribeforms on a 90's Passat we were working on the other day, with a mix of torx and standard hex heads around the bay!

i actualy hate torx bolts, i never had any torx sockets so used to use an allen key socket to undo them and replace with a normal bolt or cap screw

Main problem is usually a set of sockets goes up in 10's and the bolts go up in 5's, but the male headed ones do like to strip for fun when a bit rusty. Allens are even worse though when rusty, I normally remove those with a torx lol
