I bought my very first nova for £700 with no engine
It is the cleanest nova i have ever seen, it has no rust, anywere!
it came with the full conversion kit for a c20let (mounts, shafts etc) and the shell is already seam welded.

came with a gte steering wheel, digi dash, half roll cage, set of 5 cesaro wheels, lowering springs all round (looking to get coil overs in the future)

it also came with a cat 1 alarm and tracker (fitted)

http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/Nova/IMG_0412.jpg

GTE (astra i believe) steering wheel & digi dials.

i then bought a second nova as a dona car for the sr engine & gsi seats

http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/Nova/301555_10150440963135337_638135336_10041600_143825 7147_n.jpg

http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/Nova/IMG_0432.jpg

i am planning on putting the sr engine in the yellow nova.
it is running on a 1.6 astra carb i have been told and it could have an uprated cam?
obviously i shall find this out but any tips on tuning an sr engine up a bit more?

(not sure if 1.3 or 1.4)

i am planning in about a years time to either saab turbo or c20let the nova, however as its my first car, i dont want to crash to early lol

pics of engine etc to come and hopefully start building the car soon!

any suggestions on what other things i can do? :)

At the weekend, we decided to make some progress, so it had to be on the white nova.
http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/IMG_0471.jpg

http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/IMG_0485.jpg

we the stripped the rest of the car for spares,
http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/h423/Charlie-Macklin/IMG_0489.jpg

Before you all jump to conclusions, the doors were rotton completly, and so were the wings :/ so we left them there.
the car was the scrapped for £68.30 with nothing left on it.
not bad for two days work! :D

Oh noo, youve left the gte split rear bench in, the cloth rear parcel shelf supports and full rear wheelarch carpets and the rest of the boot carpet bits which i would of bought off you.

And you left the rear windows and GSi window frames in it which someone else would of bought.
Was that a GSi or GTE or something ? or just had the bits on ?

Should of put the shell up for sale on here you would of got more.

P.S Was the yellow nova the one with the FIDO DIDO sticker on the back window ? lol

Crock of shiit mate. If that was the case my Mk1 would've flown apart in bits by now.
Always sad to see a nva on a scrap truck, but needs must, my old mk1 will be goin on one soon.

Looking nice, makes me wish I had my Nova painted yellow when I had the chance! One thing I would maybe change is put a GSI front bumper on it then it will look perfect.

Nova-nation
04-12-11, 10:04 PM
Yellow wouldnt have been my first choice if i was respraying it, however it certainly different and i would never want to change it!
i think i will have to get a gsi bumper at some point, just to finish it off, will look smart then!
cheers!

Glad you got it running. Looks a mint shell, you should of cleaned up and painted the engine before you put it in though, would of been easier.

If i was you i would get that done, fit the flocked dash and front doorcards and carpets and find some decent buckets for it. Lovely car by the way :)

You should of kept the rear frames off that white nova aswell and fitted them :thumb:

Et25 mate, I've camberd the front in to tuck in the arch, and ill have to get my freinds arch roller out I think

Connor
10-03-12, 06:49 PM
Ohh yea you will need camber with et25, might need a tad flaring tbh, they 6j?

Nova-nation
10-03-12, 07:39 PM
They're 7j, the front ones are fine once cambered, the backs hit the inside of the arch, roll my arches, stretched tyres, lower profile, I think I should clear it, but I am running 110mm springs, so if that dousnt work, I'll put the 60's back in

Connor
10-03-12, 07:58 PM
Hmm yea just see how they sit once you rolled it, just make sure you take it for a test drive and make sure its alright on bumps etc, as you dont wanna ruin your arches.

Got a Gsi bumper courtesy of Bubba, its got some ****ty vents, no towing eye cover and it needs a spray, but hey ho, i thought i would trial fit it first to see what it looked like.

At the moment the ceaseros are off and for sale, so i went to put a set of 3 spokes on that i had, just so i could move the car around, unfortunatly, the front ones dont fit over my brakes. so ive got 15's on the front and 14's on the back.

makes the back look even lower though :P

Long time no update.

Had a big push to get it ready for the mot, took it down there after a few problems, and it failed :(

List as long as the page, just annoying small things though! So about a day playing with it and it should be done.

But the fcuking nob who put my tyres on took the paint off my wheels, not impressed!

as soon as it is mot'd the engine is coming out and the 20seh out of my astra gte is going in :)
