had some bloke message me on le great book of faces and offer me a 1994 lolvo 850 T5 estate manual.

lowered, drilled n grooved discs, half leather, 120K, remaped to 300bhp (apparantly) adjustable boost controller, 2 new wishbones. it needs 2 front tyres (how ironic) and it jumps out of 2nd when you let off but the bloke recons its the gearbox mount.. tax n mot till dec :)

is there anything i should look at if i get it? either way ill have it if its a straight swap. (if its pooped i can weight it in for more than an audi lol and id get a nice turbo lol)

and ill remove this bit if admin shake their sticks but its not going to be sold on here if i do, already have people asking how much for it.

how much do they go for? ive seen 2 on ebay for £1500 and £700. would it be between that if i could sort the gearbox and bung 2 tyres on it.

we have volvo t5's in some of our autograss cars, there safe, run forever (120k is nothing) and parts are readily available. a 300bhp chip sounds quite resonable as our two are both about that

They go for £3-700 for an average/good one. I [paid £350 for mine with 98k on it and 6 months tax and 9 MOT... It will be the box - common on the manual ones. Not a huge deal as they are cheap to get 2nd hand

the police ones go for more because of the history and their mapped for around 300bhp, and thinking about it their cable shift so the jumping out of second by my reconing could be iffy as surely the gearbox position would make no difference iirc??

and 15-20mpg lol

only if you drive it fast, we drove one about 65 miles on the red light home

would still be easier to sell than my audi. no-one want to pay for it lol.

annoyingly its £100 more to insure than my 1.6 e30....wtf. grandad scene car haha. he said the gearbox never bothered him as it just held it there. and its only 2nd.

and the mpg is of no concern to me :p

Get it then - I average 27mpg and if you sit at 75, it will do 31-33 mpg on a run...

it wont be 300 bhp on a std i/c, they are more like 260 with the 'chip'. Sounds like it has a bleed valve too - which is nice! lol

Personally Id go for it, being as seen your trying to flog your Audi like a dead horse on eBay for months :/

T5 would be easier to shift on purely for its donor engine.

With a 2.3 5 pot turbo and the Beemer is a 1.6 4 pot N/A, yep I can't see why it is more to insure either...

lol

Maybe the T5 belongs to a scene kid who wants another VAG?
