... first one is that this arrived this morning

Forza 4 collectors edition with a metal case for the game discs and a booklet with specs and info etc on cars and what-not + extra car packs.

Secondly is me moving from an 'upto 8Mb' ADSL line which gave me an abismal speed of 600kbps - 880kbps to this badboy:

And just so I wasn't seeing things I did another test :d

http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/6158/gawddamn2.jpg

20ms is the slowest ping I've had so far, fastest being 9ms. It got connected last night but at a lower rate till my account was verified then BLAM full speed. BT engineer come round set things up and got a direct line test showing 39998Kbps (max rate being 40000Kbps).

Couple the two things together meant that I was able to download Forza 4 updates and packs (extra packs I got with the collectors eddition) in f*cking seconds - 300+meg update in circa 30 seconds lol

Love it! Ich bin happy!

lol I get out loads lads but when I'm at home I need things to do. Serious gamer or not, the speed increase and moving my line from ADSL to Fibreoptic only costs £7 more per month and includes evening/weekend calls for free. So I'd have to be a right dumbass not to lol

Yeah heard about that... there's 100Mb in my area but the price you pay etc really isn't worth it currently. In the future maybe but for now 40Mb is cool lol

So some Virgin media users have 450MB connections or is it just businesses so far?

anyone else think that the broadband networks have been sandbagging a bit on their speed, so they can sell an upgrade every so often????

at work, we are on a really pants phone line broadband, it got 'upgraded' last month & it is rocket fast compared to the old setup

^ Probably... My last connection which I've had for many years started off over 1Mb/s... ok it's not lightning but that same connection seemed to have dropped to below 800kb/s. I'm with a different provider but who's to say they haven't wound down the dial to reduce speed? Maybe it's a coincidence that my line just got worse.

We too are getting 100Mb at work and about time too as it really does delay us.

On private "in house" networks. Nearly every internet enabled device avaliable to public at present doesnt have the shiz to cope with this kinda stuff as yet.
