Looks like it. The first car I seen pics of them on was a red one though. Dunno who made the originals, but the 18's were put on sale afaik.

i just got given a copy of the cosworth story. it is remarkable what cosworth got away with, in terms of not developing a product once it was designed.....they used & reused the same stuff for 40 odd years

nope, i got a mid 90's book (came from the local church bookshop) and it is all from the start of cosworth in an old stables tuning ford anglia engines, and anything else they could manage.... thru to the multinational cosworth brand... it is fascinating just how little money they actually made when the dfv was the king... they created it for £40k and that included designing & building fully production ready 5 engines.. but they made some serious money later on...
coscast is their patented foundry process, whereby they massively cut the wastage % of bare castings, so they could save a fortune.. they did it because they were pissed off with rubbish castings ruining their race engines!!!!! that linky will get saved into my pc at home, i think it will make amazing reading....

my fave cosworth fact so far from the book... the 6r4 engine was designed by a rover engineer.. it used dfv valves & pistons, and the head was basically a copy of the dfv, and cosworth cam profiles were also used... so it was basically a stroked v6 dfv..... no wonder it was so good..

cossie sierra was built for one very good reason.. fords sierra sales were dying on their ar$es because cortina owners didn't like the jelly mould shape & were buying cav mk2s by the lorry load... the original cossie made everyone want one.. then the sapphire cossie was put on the market & nobody wanted one, then they tried the 4x4 version, more as an executive express but then someone lent one to the young colin mcrae, and he damn near won the monte carlo rally in it. and suddenly ford was back in the rally game..... and the sierra floorpan was shortened & stuck into an escort mk5 shell, turning a really boring & poor selling car into an icon.. it was built for rallying from the start, thus it is way superior to the sierra.... but this is only an opinion...

Yeah there is that, but TBH Id happily pay £10k++ for an Escort Cosworth either way.

Well, maybe not a 32 as there well, a bit shÃ*t. 33 or 34 yes.
