I've seen one come out the top, but it was a messy job.

I'd walk off if I were you

i got asked to do a clutch cabe on a mk1 clio diesel van we used to own as the old one was stretched....

i came to the conclusion that renault start with a length of rope hanging from the factory roof with a clutch cable tied to it & then assemble the rest of the car round it, then i slotted some washered & taped them in to take the slop out of the old one.. it did another 5 years like that...

i wish you luck merris

Me and a mate of mine once got offered £75 to do a clutch on one on a ramp.
I turned it down-walk away honestly, guaranteed the captive nut will snap and then your into gas-axing/grinding holes out and welding etc.Not worth it.
